About Me

For me, Model Mayhem is a way to help with some of the fun aspects of supporting a photography business - creating, testing, experimenting, re-learning, and networking - an escape from the everyday photo.  If you are interested in shooting - TF or paid - please contact me.

My studio is in downtown Greenville, SC, at 1309 E Washington St.  You can see it here:

A copy of my TF* Release and License is available here:

http://www.storytellerportraits.com/tf-release-and-license.pdf

TF* can be either a single session where we both benefit from the images produced, or a time for time trade done in 2 sessions where modeling, MUA, or retouch  services are traded for my time as a photographer to be used as you wish for shots such as pets, family, or products.  I'm flexible. When we shoot TF,  you are not only my collaborator, but also my customer, so I guarantee you will be happy with the quality and quantity of photos!
--------
I like taking all kinds of shots, but my favorites are ones that tell stories, get people to think, and make you look up and down and back and forth - twice. (Kind of like that feeling when you read something over again, even though you already know what it says, just because of the way it is written.)

My passion for photography began with a Kodak 126 Instamatic camera and more black & white shots of a black & white cat than anyone - except me - cared to look at. Having shot, developed, and printed film since the '80s, I now love the instant images rendered by digital equipment, and the ability to more quickly fine tune the composition and lighting based on immediate client feedback.

Thanks for stopping by. Feedback is always welcome and appreciated.  If you want to read more, please see  http://www.StorytellerPortraits.com

About my avatar - that 's me in the glasses; my wife is wearing them.

Often asked:
-Where are you? Mostly now in Greenville, SC, but very frequently in Baltimore too.
-Studio? yes-1309 E Washington St in downtown Greenville, SC
-Escorts? - No problem, but they may be put to work or have their picture taken!
-Do you shoot ...? -  Please note that while conveying suspense or anticipation is a fun challenge, I'm just not into violence or gore. Otherwise, if you want to pose, I'll shoot it. I am comfortable shooting nudity or fetish for people of legal age of any gender.  I will not ask anyone to exceed his or her limits during a shoot.
-Best way to reach me?  Call.  My phone and email are there to facilitate communication and get things done, but I type (and text) slowly.  After all, I'm used to pressing 1 button with 1 finger!

I am also interested in forming a TF group.  The notion of 'specifically' what we would accomplish is still evolving, and would depend on what each member of the group is looking to get out of it.  Sometimes I have an idea I just want to try and would like to find people also interested in experimenting.  I like learning how another photographer would do it differently, how a male model vs a female model would see it.  I find that when I take pictures, my favorites are the ones which capture my photographic vision the best, but that the model/subject will often prefer a certain angle of themselves over more interesting lighting.  Working with others and getting feedback from many points of view is what it is all about.  I do not like shooting a model with 4 other people shooting from behind my back and then all going our separate ways, but to knowingly share a shoot with another photographer, and see the effects of their different style and equipment is something I would enjoy.
