Hi everybody!

I am an artist from Apeldoorn, Netherlands.
My main interest is to capture the expression of the whole figure and this is why I am very interested in gesture drawing and sketchy results. I draw people because that is the most interesting, important, meaningful subject to me.
Additionally, I usually don't draw just the torso, but I will always draw the head as well

I feel that drawing has a special meaning and importance in this age of digital photography and the resulting overload of photographic images that is presented to us each day. By drawing directly from a live model you set time to a halt and allow yourself to fully concentrate on your subject.
The work and writings of David Hockney are a great inspiration to me, especially his insights in the ways that space, time, movement and perspective in images can be approached by optical or photographical methods or by traditional drawing.
Usually I work with simple, direct media such as charcoal, pastel or pencil.
