One Fresh Photo is the brainchild and creative aftermath of Antwan Smalls, a New York native with a passion for artistic expression. His interest in photography began as a child when he quickly took notice of the power behind a photograph. A photograph to him was a frozen moment in time, a physical representation of a memory and a vessel to revisit selected points in a person’s history.

In the late 90’s, Antwan began modeling professionally. It was during this time that he got a chance to see the way the technological aspects of photography worked on a professional level. He quickly began experimenting with photography and reading various tutorials. Meanwhile, he had just graduated from a specialty technology school where he studied his other passion of making and fixing gadgets. Through many different tutorials, school, and lots of practice, he gained the skills necessary to begin shooting on a professional level.

His career began with event photography for clubs and parties, but his real joy came from events that are particularly significant to a person’s life, such as a wedding. These are the pictures that elicit emotion from a client and invite them to revisit those memories with every glance.

As a master manipulator of light, few rival his studio work. He enjoys studio shoots, because it gives him total control over the shadows, highlights, colors, and contrasts of a photo. In short, being in a studio allows for more creativity and artistic expression.

One Fresh Photo was created as a platform for any developing photographer to debut and showcase their work, as long as it is worthy of the One Fresh Photo title. The One Fresh Photo team currently consists of three photographers and two graphic designers. Having various photographers incorporates a broader creative spectrum and effectively delivers one fresh photo with every shoot.
