My name is Patty Alexis Chu. I'm a freelance makeup artist / hairstylist in Toronto, Ontario.

Since I was young I have always loved arts. I love to draw and paint, but as I got older I realized those took too much time and were too two dimensional. My interests turned to fashion and beauty; and I began to express my art through makeup in 2006, where I created Alexis Studios.

Makeup is not only a form of art, it is a way for people to express themselves and to build confidence. Some people use makeup to enhance their personalities and styles, while some use it to hide their flaws. Either way, it boosts people's self-confidence and happiness. And I want to help people achieve that.

My inspiration comes from my passion for art, from various people I've met, and different places I've been to. I have done makeup for weddings, proms, and photoshoots. Recently, one of the shoots working alongside Carlson Chu was featured in W25 Magazine; issue 15 Decemeber 2009.

I'd love to work with different people in the industry because everyone has their own styles, allowing me to learn from them and gain new inspirations. =)
