About Me

I'm Rodrigo, Montreal established photographer.I'm joining the Model Mayhem because I need models and make up artists for my personal and professional works. I've been working as a professional photographer and photographic teacher for the last 4 years and I'm experienced in fashion, nude and editorial portraits. i like to work in studio with artificial lights, 'cause I really enjoy to create my own light and produce something different each work. I let you write my Artist Statement here to know more about my work:
The photograph should tell us a story" is something typically said about this kind of art. For me, every element in a picture has the potential to tell its story, each color evokes feelings that are very connected with the heart of every spectator. Every shape, every light-and-shadow games take us to the past or future; cause nausea; make us scared or bring us tenderness, making us excited or frustrated... That is why Photograph is something magic, as it has the power to touch us and bring up some situations or feelings often forgotten or ignored. In my images, when I turn on my camera to shoot something, the abstract side ends up standing out to what we see every day, to the obvious, which we often don’t give importance. Contrasts is what I try to reach, repeatedly, antonyms to be expressed in a single image, which through its antagonism can touch the human being, drawing upon the endless conflicts and antagonisms that inhabit each of us. The colored games of concretism, schools of painting and sculpture, I try to use my repertoire in the work I do, to pour all of my research work, mixed with my emotions and my worldview. My art seeks to express my worldview, which is never totally complete; it is being built every single day, making me see my world in many different ways. I think both work of the Ruins and the Liquid Desire express my turbulent feelings. For more bucolic than the ruins are, I see the agony of the past trying to call our attention to the chaotic world of our present moment. In Liquid Desire, eroticism shows its bizarre angle, distorted forms of the nude body of a women express something out of sex or sensuality; abstract shapes
stand out and produce various sensations in the spectator. Through my art I try to show my world, I try to understand a little bit more about my intimate and talk to the camera shows me a world where the dialogue aspects of the routine do not show up.
