Bio:
Miss NY is an MBA student focusing on Entrepreneurial Studies at C.W. Post’s College of Management at Long Island University. She is also a founding board member of the C.W. Post MBA Association and serves on its Executive Board as the Secretary; under this cap, she founded the MBA Association Newsletter. She holds a Masters Degree in Literature with a focus in American Literature and Literary Theory. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor’s in Education and minors in English and Marketing. She also holds an advanced certificate in ballroom dance.

Miss NY has worked in the nonprofit arena for six years and is currently employed by Long Island University as a Development Researcher. She has served on the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Philanthropy Day LI Planning Committee Board and is a member of APRA-Greater New York (an association that helps nonprofit professionals network and grow professionally). She is currently working with the National Alzheimer’s Association to build awareness of their Memory Walk 2010.

In 2009, shewon the Empire State amateur Dancesport Championship gold medal, and she undefeated in Tango Argentino. In 2008, Lara was the first runner-up in the Miss Polonia Pageant and marched in the Polaski Day Parade. She was also named Miss Kerkyra in 2007 as part of the Miss Greek Independence Pageant. She is also a spokesmodel for Bacardi USA. Lara has been practicing yoga for the past three years and meditation for 6 and expects to run a half marathon before the close of 2010.

In July 2010, Lara will fly to Las Vegas, NV to compete with state delegates from around the US for the title of Miss United States. Come and show your support!
