About Me

Seems to me we're all going about this wrong. I mean, this is for a job interview, right? Let's put aside the art and focus on the goal!

Pretty pictures, dramatic lighting--they're all well and good, but they often say more about the photographer than the model. Put yourself in the position of the person hiring you. She wants to see if you'll look good in their clothes, if you have good expressions, and if you'll be easy to work with. She'll want a clear view of your face and your figure, and she probably won't be impressed with your photographer's artistry. I think the point of your portfolio is to get you hired, pure and simple. Let's do some shots that show the hiring agent that you're the person they're looking for.

By the way. . .the dude in the cover shot is me. I think it's kinda weird when photographers use one of their models as their avatar. Don't you want to know what sort of geek you're dealing with? Now you've been warned.
