On February 5th, 1990, Stephanie Dessources was born in Port au Prince,
Haiti. At the age of five Stephanie was brought to the states to have a
better education and lifestyle. After flipping through the channels she
came across the film Selena starring Jennifer Lopez and was blown away.
She barely spoke english but she mimicked the lyrics and copied
Jennifer's every move in the mirror. Stephanie looked at her mother and
said "Moin ta remain nan television" (Translation: "I want to be on
t.v."). That's when she fell in love with the idea of being an
entertainer. Since that day Stephanie dreamed of her face in catalogs
and on billboards in cities like New York, Las Angeles, Atlanta, Miami
etc. Troubled by the fact of being short, she spent most of her time
dressing up in her mother's fancy clothes, applying her mother's make
up and grandmother's wigs to take pictures. Nothing meant more to her
than feeling beautiful and putting on a show for her family.
