29 year old new photography talent Derek Feniger has been capturing images for 6 years beginning in his home town of Toledo, Ohio. His interest began with nature photography and has evolved into the fashion arena, as he garnered much experience working in front of the lens as a campaign model for an international fashion brand in NYC. Working as a model with top art-directors indirectly schooled him in how to communicate with models and breath life into the concepts he dreams of.

Vision
What Derek attempts to capture and immortalize on film is something very fleeting; a moment that exists only in that instant and to miss it is to lose it forever. He is particularly compelled by raw settings and un-staged locations that allow him to play with angles and depth perceptions. In his work, he strives to create something that lures his audience to ‘take a second look’.

With a strong passion and emphasis on Fashion Photography, Derek’s portfolio shows a diverse range including work in nature, portrait, and product shots. He is very open to new projects that invite his talent to push the creative envelope. Derek has the innate skill to find inspiration in anything and everything he shoots, lending his vision to create a lasting impression.

Free-Flowing Philosophy
“It’s all about the connection. The importance of this connection leads to the strong sense of trust with the client or subject. I strive to make them feel comfortable and allow a free-flowing process to capture whatever it is they are seeking. It’s very uncontrived and organic and my intuition let’s me know when I have that shot in front of me.”
