I have chosen to study photography because it's a passion that I am focused to succeed in. I didn't want to pick a major where I can just make good money but to wake up after I graduate everyday and be excited to go to work. I intend to learn and become the best and make a career for myself. I was always taught it's better to be different and to stand out among those around you. When I first entered Penn State I was very indecisive because I wanted to do what makes the most money not what made me happy. I've decided to choose photography because its what fits into my life and what makes me excited to go to class to do. I know that in order to achieve success I will have to work hard. It will not always be fun but nothing in life comes easy otherwise it is not worth having.

I love to capture the essence of a moment and in A picture it says more than words. It can show the mood and sincerity in a person's face, it can show a state of shock, it can show love in between two people, and more then anything it can touch someone's soul that can cause emotion. As a child growing up we all learn the phrase "sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me", however, we never learn the power of a picture. As I grew older I learned how pictures can capture a memory and years later remember the feelings and actions at that moment and time. A picture can harm a person, such as tabloid pictures are meant to harm those that are famous, they can show pain just as the pictures from 9/11, or they can show joyous moments such as Barack Obama's pictures when being elected as our president. I intend to share the world's beauties and imperfections through the end of my camera. I just hope I can provide these many attributes through my photographs.
