Hi, my name is Dan Godwin and I'm a portrait artist working in the midlands. I currently produce work with pencils and pastels in monochrome, but eventually will expand this to colour works using paint.

My work is generally commissioned therefore my personal portfolio is limited- which is why I would like to gain experience with a wide range of people.

I'm looking to build my portrait portfolio with images focusing on chiara scura (please see the audrey Hepburn commission I drew).

At the moment I draw from photographs. However my method with models would be to take photographs and a few quick 5 min sketches- so no long waits.

Models who are open-minded and confident to try new things would be a must, but all are welcome. As I don't use a studio, I would suggest taking the shots and sketches in public places so that both parties are comfortable. I find it adds a natural feeling to the drawings.

The images I have uploaded are for representation of the quality that I would produce- and not necessarily the kind of poses that I want to use in my future work.
