About Me

I AM CURRENTLY OUT OF ACTION AND HOPE TO BE BACK IN THE GAME SHORTLY.

I am a Professional freelance photographer, I am very passionate and enthusiastic about my photography. I am very easy to work with and am always welcoming new ideas and suggestions. Many of my models have gone on to become published and successful models in a multitude of media.

I believe that being a female photographer I bring a little something extra as there are so many male photographers in the fashion and modeling industry, And so many photographer in the world all competing for the same thing it can be hard for a model to chose the best photographer for their needs to make the process a little easier for you as a model here is some more information.

Preparation for a shoot -

As a model you will need to look your absolute best for the day of the shoot, sometimes small things like unwanted hair and clothing marks can cause a lot of hassle for both the photographer and the model not only do they hold up the shoot but often they can be time consuming and costly for a photographer during post processing and can sometimes not be concealed in a photo, so to avoid delaying the shoot here are a few things to remember.

1.Do not shave on the day of the shoot please make sure you shave at least 24hrs before the shoot time, shaving rash or nasty blotches on legs or other areas because of sensitive shaved areas being irritated by poses and locations isn't pretty.
2.Please do not wear tight clothing or a bra to the shoot clothing indents and bra lines can delay the shoot times as we sometimes need to wait for them to fade so they don't show up in the final result.
3.Make sure you nails are clean and the nail polish used is unless specified natural and clean, It might seem like a minor detail but beautiful nails can make all the difference in a shot with your hands are involved.
4.Do not drink excessive amounts of alcohol the night before the shoot, It dehydrates your skin, Hydrate with lots of water to plump your skin and look healthy and fresh for the shoot, and get lots of sleep to avoid dark eye's bags.
Posing is a really important part of modeling and can make or break a photograph, know your body and its limitations, most of all practice facial expressions in the mirror and know which angles work with you body, there is nothing worse then a model who's facial expression is identical ever shot, Learn to speak with your eyes and practice expressions like looking sexy, shocked, smiling without looking fake etc. Look through magazines of all kinds and practice the poses and facial expressions shown in them, if you do this for an hour a week it will make all the difference to your shoot and the photographers will love you.

My personal style

I shoot only on location and I believe this brings that little something extra to a shoot, I have a street inspired fashion style that I always try to personalize and adapt to each models needs, I use the surrounding areas to enhance the shoot and the model's best assets. I use natural lighting and shadow to give each and ever shoot a mood and feeling.

Shoot Time-frame

A shoot with me will last between 2-4 hours. So please make sure you allocate enough time on the day of the shoot for this. I also do day shoots which are up to 6hrs. The duration of each shoot will depend on factors such as make-up and wardrobe change. How many styles and how long it takes you to change will effect the shoot time. I offer 2-3 clothing changes in a 2 hour shoot and up to 5 in a 4 hour shoot. Changing your make-up during shoots will prolong the process or limit the amount of shots you receive so be mindful of this when planning what you want from the shoot.  I prefer to book shoots in the morning but I so conceder travel and will never ask you to start unreasonably early.

Make up artists/Designers

If you have the skills as a model to do your own makeup I am happy for you to do that, but I always highly recommended a MUA for a shoot as they are a professional and have more knowledge and training in what works well on a camera, Most of our everyday foundations are not adequate for a professional shoot as the camera can be quiet harsh and show even the smallest of imperfections so a thicker foundation is often the best for enhancing the face and supplying the model with flawless soft skin, eliminating the need for excessive post processing. If you wish to use a designer for your shoot your welcome to use their clothing but this will need to suppled by the model and I will need to be informed before the shoot.
For paid shoots I suggest models supply or hire their own make-up artist but I can suggest make-up artist I have worked with and even give you contacts.

Bringing a friend along

Some photographers dislike a model bringing a friend or support person but I am not fussed either way, if you are uncomfortable and would be happier with a friend or family member there for moral support please feel free to bring them along, I often need an assistant for reflectors and other such things and as a model you will often find it easier to change with a friend to assist you.
If you are under 18 you must bring a parent or guardian.

Wardrobe requirements

When you book a shoot with me we will discuss what you are looking for and different ideas, I prefer to have a theme for the shoot so we are not just shooting random outfits, I find it better to have a certain look so we can stick to the same make-up and same locations so that we can get as many photo's as possible without to much time waisting. I am always open for suggestions as to what you want for your portfolio, I find the best way to sort out a style is to exchange photographs over the Internet of styles looks, make-up etc this way we both know what we are doing and what the shoot style is. I always send my models make-up and clothing ideas via email.

After the shoot

After the shoot, most likely the same day, I will email some of the photos in .jpg (low rez) format, Its always exciting to see what we have achieved so I do not ever leave my models in the learch you will receive retouched photo's from me asap after the shoot. As well as emailed low rez copies you will receive a CD/DVD containing all retouched hi-rez and low-rez copies of the photo's that I have sorted through and believe are the absolute best of the bunch. This CD/DVD will be sent to you after payment has been received. This can take up to 1 month but I aim to have the cd out to you within 2 weeks. You will not receive any raw images from any shoot with me only complete post processed images will be given to the model.
