I have for some time been interested in street photography and street portraits which has led to an interest in portraits in general.  I would like to be able to access models for more portrait work.

Many of the photography courses I have taken were offered at Cambridge Adult Ed.  I have also studied at MassArt and with Photography Atelier when it was at Lesley University.  My interest in things visual began with an art history course as an undergraduate at Harvard.  Subsequently, a course in 20th Century painting and a course titled Descriptive Drawing started my career as an abstract expressionist painter.  Last year I was in eighteen shows of painting most of which were juried. 

My interest in photography as a serious practitioner started in 2007.  Since then I have continued to take courses and to study with other serious photographers and have done roughly five or so shows a year.  My interest was first to photograph nature; to find order in nature's chaos.  More recently I have enjoyed the process of street photography and the frequent connections with people I ask to photograph.

I am impressed with the work in Humans of New York, as well as work by Eliot Porter, Bruce Davidson, Lee Friedlander, and many others.  At my age I may not find fame and fortune as an artist, but I love having the opportunity to paint and take pictures, and I am ambitious and serious.
