Matthew Hood is a documentary filmmaker and photographer. His work aims to document and illustrate remote subjects through compelling and powerful imagery. He is truly in his element when immersed in nature, working with natural light and capturing the beauty of the area. With degrees in Cinema & Communications and Photography, he has a strong foundation of both the conceptual and technical aspects of the visual medium. His passion for optical exploration has led him to innovative and experimental film techniques and integrate these skills to whatever projects he immerses himself in. His in-depth knowledge of the full production process allows him to formulate and visualize the image and carry it through post-production. Matthew’s film work has been featured on The National Geographic Channel, The Smithsonian Channel, Animal Planet, CBC, CTV and TV5.
