my name is Meg Smith and I'm a freelance makeup artist. i graduated from Joe Blasco with two certificates. one in the master program and the other in advanced prosthetics. I have extensive experience in most creative mediums, includeing theatre to film, and i'm always on hand for anything. In a breif overview of my projects:

I've done a 6 week run/4 days a week play called "swimming to the moon" about the death and experiences of Jim Morrison, i was the sole makeup artist for 7 characters. i really loved the stability of the project, but all good things must end. i did some special effects work for a music video.

I've worked on many student films, includeing key makeup on the 2008 student USC diet coke commercial, 2 leads and 10 extras that's needed to be made-up as ghosts.

I participated in Fall 08 Fashion week. My job duties included: doing makeup backstage for the runway shows, assisting other MUA including the head MUA Lori Taylor, and doing makeup for the guests/press/celebs in the VIP and Mercedes-Benz touch up stations. To Be honest, my line of guests was always the longest in the touch-up areas due to my talent and speed in application.

Working with aspiring directors is alot of fun because i think its a learning process for everyone, and the outcome is always great and fresh. I was employed in a retail position for many years, therefor i consider myself to be very comfortable with people.

In my makeup career i find myself teaching my actors alot about basic skin care/beauty/makeup application, creating face charts or notes for them to take with them if they want. i really love makeup and i think i have alot to offer because I'm outgoing, responsible and very talented.
