About Me

A breakout sensation in the fashion world, Shatonia Amee is quickly making a name for herself as one of New York’s most sought after stylists and image consultants. First appearing on the scene in early 2005, Shatonia has had a meteoric rise within the industry by showcasing high quality abilities with a list of credits that include Hearst Digital Media, Christian Cato, Victoria Secret and many more.
Ms. Amee has been sharing her fashion expertise with Hearst’s Real Beauty (http://www.realbeauty.com) and readers of Today’s Black Woman and industry publication The Biz for nearly three years. During this time, she teaches the everyday woman how to bring the catwalk to the sidewalk as well as how to recreate celebrity looks for less by being the ultimate shopping guide. But her experience doesn’t stop there.
Shatonia has spent the past six years working with the famed backstage production company, The Ground Crew, under the guidance of former model and fashion entrepreneur Audrey Smaltz. During this time, she has worked with major designers including Gucci, Christian Dior, Prada, Yves Saint Laurent, Oscar de la Renta, Michael Kors, Vera Wang, Donna Karan, Helmut Lang, Hugo Boss, Malo, Lacoste, Temperley London and Chado Ralph Rucci. For the past two seasons, Shatonia has worked as the collection coordinator for Christian Cato for New York’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.
Shatonia Amee’s work has also been seen on both the big screen (as the costume designer for independent film Butterfly Rising—written and directed by Actress Tanya Wright of HBO's True Blood) as well as the silver screen. She has worked backstage with televised fashion shows including Victoria’s Secret (since 2008)where she’s dressed models including Adriana Lima, Heidi Klum, Sessilee Lopez, Chanel Iman, and Marissa Miller; BET’s Rip the Runway (where she styled Selita Ebanks and her segment for the most recent installment in February of 2011). She has also worked as a stylist on such programs as What Not to Wear, Project Runway (All Stars Episode), as well as styled celebrities including R&B artists  Dondria and Ginuwine as well as Gospel duo Trini-Tee 5:7 for various episodes of 106 & Park. She was also the costume designer for the fashion short All Dressed up with Kathryn Hahn (featured on RealBeauty.com). Shatonia has also had the pleasure of styling singer/actress Naturi Naughton, pop artist Alexis Jordan, R&B artist Olivia as well as the gospel duo Mary Mary and Angela Simmons.
Shatonia Amee resides in the New York tri-state area.
