I am a senior at the University of Idaho- triple majoring in Art, Advertising and Communications. As far as my art background goes, I began studying photography about 7 years ago under Janet Neuhauser, a well known Fine Art photographer. I shot film for 5 years, and was solely a darkroom photog. Nothing like the smell of fixer under your nails! I am proficient in both B&W and color developing and printing etc. About 2 years ago I made the jump to digital, and haven't really worked in the darkroom much since. Digital just opens up so many more opportunities. However, I have been very involved with the new "Pure Digital" movement. I shoot Nikon, D300, D80, N80 cameras, as for glass, I have some tried and true lenses I ALWAYS carry, but the rest of the outfit depends on the gig. I use Nikon SB800 flashes.
I also am a potter, and am enjoying finding success with my pottery galleries and shows recently. I wish these two loves went more closely hand in hand, but alas it seems they are mutually exclusive art forms.
I have been a professional photographer for 3 years shooting weddings , portraits, and commercial work- Throughout Spain, South Africa, as well as the United States. As for my personal life, I am a whitewater kayaker and rafter, as well as a fly fisherman. I am very interested in the outdoors and generally all of my spare time is spent either in the studio or outdoors hiking, camping.
