About Me

Naomi Shanika James, also known as 'Nay' or 'NayJ', was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina and raised in Florida, Texas, Germany and the United Kingdom. She grew a passion for dance from the young age of 4, always attending after school dance classes. After finishing school she enrolled and was accepted onto a 2-year course in B.T.E.C Dance. Once completed she knew she was ready to audition for a Professional Credited College at Cambridge Performing Arts, UK.
In 2004, she was accepted into Bodywork Company Dance Studios, studying Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, Tap and Ballet. After completing 3 years, she was granted full scholarship for her fourth year.
After Graduating in 2009 with a Professional National Diploma in Dance, she was ready to be out in the industry. She moved to London for a year working as a Dancer and Promotional Model.
In 2010, she moved to Atlanta, GA. Since being there, she toured for a month in Jan-Feb with UK artist Ebony Bones Dancer, then Signing with BlocSouth in March 2010. Landing her first job with the agency, she was featured in the film "Big Momma: Like Father, Like Son." She then left in May 2010 to tour with the Universoul Circus as a Hip Hop Dancer in the opening act for just over a month. Naomi has worked with various artist in the industry as well In September 2011, Naomi was cast as a dancer in the new Disney TV movie "Until We Meet Again". She also featured in the piot show Nashville as a dancer and featured in the new movie "The Identical" starring Ryan Pelton and Seth Green. Just signed to Belite Model Agency, Naomi has several talents and is making her statement here on the map.
