Beauty, it is such a broad word, but so breathtaking! Everyone has their own forms of beauty, inner and outer that sets everyone apart, it would be no fun if the world all looked the same! At age four I received my very first makeup caboodle from good old’ “Santa Clause”! I carried that purple glitter caboodle with me until it was literally falling to pieces. I would duck tape it day after day, because it had so much significance to me. I played with my makeup as any young girl may do, smearing it on my dolls faces, using my older sister as my very own live Barbie, and every day I put some on myself, and flaunted it like I was the most glamorous model I knew!
As I grew older, there were proms, weddings, dance recitals, show choir events, quarterly college plays, quarterly high school plays, runway shows, bridal shows, and many more events that required forms of makeup, and I was there to experience them all first hand. I have had a lot of training, and it has helped me learn and grow as an individual and a makeup artist!
Makeup is a brilliant form of art, a way to let one express themselves. This is the art I chose to create on others because I enjoy nothing more than making individuals feel beautiful! This job is so rewarding, whether it is doing makeup for a bride on one of the most important days of her life, creating the perfect look for a photographer at a photo shoot, or even making a designers ideas come to life on their models that grace the runway with all sorts of designs.
I love my job because it has so much variety; from day to day I keep myself busy doing a world of different things. I am an upbeat individual, who loves a challenge, loves change of pace, and most importantly loves working with others! I couldn’t ask for a better job, doing what I love most, and making my dreams come true one by one!
