I'm an Artist. I have worked in all sorts of mediums but my favorites are Pencil and now mostly Wood. My subject matter varies but my favorite is the Nude Female form. There is nothing more beautiful and interesting. My wood working is mostly Carving and I need photo's to work from since the live models have a hard time holding the same pose for sometimes over a month for completion of a project.

ABOUT MY ART

INTARSIA: This is my favorite finished technique but it's a bitch to do. Each piece of the pattern is cut from different species of wood to get the color variations and they need to fit tight with the piece next to it. I use a Scroll saw with a very tiny blade. Then each piece is individually shaped to achieve depth. This process is done over and over until perfect. From there, each piece is finished separately then glued together. Each piece is touched around 10 times and with a pattern of over a 100 pieces it's a little time consuming but the finished piece looks real cool. Examples are the Horse Head and the Bassett Pup.

SEGMENTATION: This is the same as above but only one species of wood is used and usually painted. Example is the Gorilla.

FRET WORK: Hate the name so I refer to it as relief carving which isn't exactly correct since a Scroll Saw is used. This is basically cutting a bunch of holes in a 1/8 inch piece of ply wood to create a picture. Examples are the flat ones where the picture is black. I use black felt for this.

CARVING: Simply a block of wood slowly cut with carving tools. Example is the Nude Female torso.

FRAMES: I make my own
