I am a woman who loves life and the abundance in which life offers. I am so excited about what this stance has afforded me. I love fashion, shopping, and traveling (I will get on a plane in a hot minute...smile.)  I am inspired by the awesomeness -- YEWEH's MIGHT AND POWER! What I mean is, is that so many women of color have been marginalized and oppressed, acquiring a stance -- "learned helplessness." Learned helplessness is a psychological condition in which a human being has learned to believe that it is helpless in a particular situation. They have come to believe that he/she has no control over their situations and that whatever he/she does is futile. As a result, the human being will stay passive in the face an unpleasant, harmful or damaging situation, even when it does actually have the power to change their circumstances. Learned helplessness theory is the view that depression results from a perceived absence -- control over the outcome -- a situation, or situations (Seligman, 1975). God Bless,smile.
