Painting portraits is my passion. At the age of seven, I had a professional camera in my hand, given to me by my Dad. It was his father’s camera. From that moment on I was obsessed with portraits and over time it changed from the camera and film to the brush and canvas.

I feel like I’ve been blessed with a gift - a passion - to create portraits of others and convey the essence of the person within the portrait. Every portrait I paint provides me the opportunity to create a cherished heirloom that will have real meaning for generations to come.

My inspiration is drawn from light and the masters such as Rembrandt, Van Dyke, Sir Henry Raeburn and John Singer Sargent. My challenge as an artist is to strive to a standard of excellence they have established and to fuse the traditional forms of art with the digital.
