Hey all,
My name is Adam Choi, and I’m currently a college student, and am in the Irvine/Newport Beach area of California. I’ve been using Adobe Photoshop for about 8 years now. I have received a Graphic Design Certificate from the Southeast Regional Occupational Program (ROP), and love analyzing advertisements. I’ve been shooting seriously for about 3 years now, getting my first DSLR in 2007. I have been learning photography by reading, researching, and experimenting on my own. This self exploration allows me to discover my own style and choose my own tastes.
I like Fashion and Glamour Photography and Photojournalism. I like the artistic creativity in advertisements for fashion clients. I love animated pictures, snapshots of action, movement frozen in time. I love the photojournalism style of capturing verbs, emotions, moods, senses, and an overall atmosphere. It is said that a picture says a thousand words. I try to illustrate every one of those words vividly in my pictures, not merely taking a picture of a noun, but capturing the essence of life, energy, and emotion. Most of my work is emotionally driven, and exhibits the mood and feelings I have.
My biggest goal is to push my creative limits to the edge, and inspire myself and others with the pictures I take. I hope to improve my techniques and establish my own style that will be recognizable by my peers and colleagues. I hope to convey a message in every picture I take, and tell a story in one frame. I hope to become more active in the photography field, and meet others with similar tastes. My purpose is to satisfy the senses, and fuel my artistic desires.
I joined MM to meet other photographers and models in my area. I want to meet people with similar tastes as my, and create a collaborative network that keeps members refreshed artistically, inspires, and active in photography. By doing so, I hope to become more active in the artistic community.
