I'm an amateur (there, honesty is a great thing) photographer.

First and foremost, I am here to learn and improve.

I like natural light (I'll admit this is in part due to limited resources & lack of good lighting, which I'm obviously working on developing), thoughtful moments, and a story lurking behind a slight smirk. My favorites are vintage dress up shoots, but I also enjoy taking candid, naturally lit photos that could be a still from a movie. Ideally, I'd like to experiment with a variety of styles and ideas, in fun and collaborative projects.

About the name: "Metal orchid" was partly inspired by a line from a song by the band Psychic TV. Since then, I've found that I enjoy the dichotomy of a delicate and organic flower vs the coolness and rigidity of metal. I am inspired by times gone past, but I also enjoy modernism and futurism a great deal and hope with some practice to be able to combine both directions organically in my work. I'm also still working out a brand identity, so this is the interim name I'd like to stick to.
