About Me

After more than 17-years on this site, I'm not shooting all that much these days except when I feel unusually inspired. Currently I split my time between Boston and Cape Cod, where we own a second home.

Often I see beauty and value where others may not. I have no desire to photograph every model on MM. Quite the opposite, in fact. When I do choose to shoot, I seek those individuals who strike me as creative, thoughtful and artistic.

On this site, you'll find mostly portraiture and fine-art nudes. But if your idea of aesthetics is draping yourself across a Harley-Davidson with your legs spread; sorry, you'll need to find a different photographer.

The irregular, the unconventional & the unpredictable interest me. My most successful images are about ambivalence, emotion, mood and mystery. I'm thrilled when serendipity, humor and whimsy find a way into our shoots. When things go well, each shoot is a creative adventure between model and photographer. This synthesis is what I strive for, and if we're going to succeed in this together, you should too.

For more than a decade, I was a Trustee of Camera Work, a member managed  cooperative which until recently operated a Boston photo studio for 42 years, before permanently disbanding in October 2019.

For 13 seasons I was the production photographer for the award-winning Zeitgeist Stage Company, an avant-garde, cutting-edge theater group located in the Boston Center for the Arts in the South End. After 18 glorious seasons, Zeitgeist shuttered its stage lights for the final time in April, 2019.

Finally, I'm not here to collect make-believe friends or meaningless "thank you for  whatever..." tags. Anyone can do that, and they tell you nothing useful whatsoever.

Real friends talk to each other. A friend is some one you know, can vouch for, and yes, actually care about. If you want to be listed, give me a reason to do so. Let me know who you are. Can't think of anything to say... well then, why would I want to list you?
