About Me

*Professional photographer since 2000, working primarily with documentary, fashion, editorial, commercial, and portrait projects.

*I keep my own style and vision in my work, though I have a number of artistic influences. Those influence include photographers like Irving Penn, Gordon Parks, Fan Ho, Jeff Ascough, Don McCullin, Richard Avedon, Carlos Serrao, James Nachtwey, Antonin Kratochvil, Steve McCurry, Sebastaio Salgado, Marc Riboud, Tomasz Gudzowaty, and Todd White (painter).

*I'm here on MM primarily to meet up with new talent, and to find and partner on new projects. I do occasionally source for commercial work, but mostly I'm looking for side projects and things to keep inspired and to test out new ideas, new methods, or new equipment.

*I believe firmly in ensuing that everyone involved feels safe, secure, valued, and understood on a shoot. Nothing weird. No hustle. I'll be a professional, and I hope that is extended in return. We all do better work when we're open, comfortable, and feel respected.

*For experienced models: I'm open to collaborating on new/interesting shoots. Feel free to pitch ideas, and if I like the idea, I'll give you the force of my talent to make it work in partnership with you.

*For inexperienced models: Don't worry! We all start somewhere. I don't mind working with new models one bit. Just please tell me first so that we can make sure you walk in confident, have the support you need, and maybe we take an extra few conversations or meetings in preparation before we show up to work.

*Most of my image samples on here are black and white--that's what I specialize in so I want to provide more ideas along those lines. That said, I work extensively with color (and a few samples are included). If you want to see more, just ask.

*As a last point--and I don't mean this to be rude in any way--but if you've been around this business at all for any amount of time you know that professionalism and seriousness to the art can be rare in online venues. Some people buy a camera off of craigslist, start taking models, and things can get weird--fast. I think this is a bad trend, and it's bad for photography as a whole. This doesn't mean we must be too rigid, either, but it does mean that we need to be careful about who we partner with and what we're trying to do. Respect and professionalism deeply matter for a reason, especially early on in creative partnerships.
I try very hard to hold to these values. I'm not here to find dates, to chase some juvenile access to nudity, or as some other mask for ulterior motives. I'm here to do great work, and modeling sites are just one tool in a broader toolbox that is used to do that.

*With luck, we'll work together soon.
