I am transitioning a portion of my photographic work to model/fashion/glamour photography. I have been shooting for 13 years but have only recently enjoyed photographing people, especially individual people in a non-candid environment. For a long time I had assumed that portraits were not my style. A recent request by a client forced me to address my concerns with this corner of photography and I find myself increasingly drawn to the allure of the portrait dynamic.

Some of my hesitation to shift has been the stigma attached to model photography, especially in a college town. I think I can realistically say that while some of my concerns may have been valid, they were over-exaggerated because of industry stereotypes.
