About Me

Welcome to my page at Model Mayhem.

Some things about me.

Photography is not my first or second profession, but I will do it for money so I fall into the part-time professional class.

I like to work at the crack of dawn or the edge of night or mid-night.

I often don't make up my mind on exactly what to shoot until I meet you and often not until the shoot itself, but then I may also plan it out to the last detail and bring enough gear, props and outfits to set up a field studio. It depends... have we worked together before... is there a hot project that has to get done... is it a marvelously murky day filled with character and random beams of light?

I like shooting on location and generally not in studio settings.

I will not give you a copy of every shot I take while we shoot, not even the cool one of your shoes when I dropped the camera. Not even close to every shot I take. But I will give you a copy of every shot I find at least tolerable. Many better photographers than I have this policy, so I do not even debate it anymore.

I don't have to shoot for money and rarely do, and while I might introduce you to other photographers, shooting with me is not going to propel you into any magazine except by the images themselves. I have no fashion industry or model agency contacts.

I like working with versatile models that are not going to go bug-eyed when I suggest climbing up the tree, step into the water, or wear a dinosaur costume...

I like working with all kinds of models, but especially ones that are good at conveying confidence through the lens whether while holding a 9mm, a cell phone, dual frying pans, or the outfit they just had on until it caught fire, and the models who can switch from the cool confident look to the terrified or to the joyous are simply priceless.

I do take kinder, gentler shots, but prefer to get them from the same models I am getting the dynamic, aggressive, edgier shots from.

I prefer working a lot each with a few models as opposed to a little bit with many models.

If you like my work and are inclined to collaborate on some great images, get involved with one of my paying projects or create compelling images for your portfolio,  please contact me here on ModelMayhem or by e-mail at peytonking@hotmail, and thanks for stopping by my profile.
