My name is Jonathan.
I love photography film, digital, slide, in any format. I started at the University of Portland, OR spending hours in the darkroom.
I grew up exploring the mountains & deserts of western Colorado (Palisade), and eastern Utah.
I have a passion for great light: All kinds harsh, soft, low light, natural light, or studio lighting. Great light makes great images.
I have a unique past. I was hurt very badly when I was 17, by electricity it effects my body & mind daily. However it makes my photography better.
Before I was interested in imagery I was an accomplished sculptor. I specialized in Raku and pit fire techniques. Expressive art has helped me move positively through my life. Now, here, living and photographing in Santa Cruz my style has evolved.
I listen well, and I am very easy going. Everyone must be as comfortable as possible. A good shoot equals trust & respect from both side of the camera.
I am looking for a core group of local professionals; models, MUAs, hair & clothing stylists on this side of the mountains. When a client calls I need people who I can work with and with whom I can depend.
