"Darren's imagery is not mirroring life but illusion; his subjects are not humans, but Gods of love, of allure, of luxury, perfection incarnate from the Golden Age of Hollywood glamour. More often than not, his subjects appear to have skin like marble, like alabaster and has a translucent sheen in which, as in a mirror, one can see reflected the fantasies of the beholder.

Waved hair spilling over beds of silks/satins, glazed lips parting seductively, vaselined lids lowered languidly, arms alluringly entwined in hair. Creatures of light, of marble, of glass. These portraits/subjects are anything but average, they are, like icons, made to be adored, they are to be coveted, to be admired like works of art.

But that's just one side to Darren's imagery.
