History of Stomp the Runway
Stomp The Runway is an Awareness Raising Fashion Show that spotlights a specific cause every year through a unique blend of high fashion & entertainment, with provocative visual statements designed to invoke change. Founded by Rashad Corey following the tragic death of Philadelphia Supermodel, Vanessa “Ms. Banks” Watson, who was murdered in a senseless act of domestic violence, the inaugural Stomp The Runway Against Domestic Abuse in 2012 brought together more than 400 guests and local celebrities, with proceeds benefiting the Watson Family and Women Against Abuse.

The 2016 Stomp The Runway fashion show is co-produced by Rashad Corey Productions, Fashion Group International of Philadelphia, Rebel Hill Consulting, UrsulaStylesMe and a team of fashion insiders. This year’s event will focus on the fight against sexual abuse, by benefiting Women Organized Against Rape (WOAR). Statistics gathered from the Philadelphia Police Department show that reported rapes in Philadelphia have risen from 922 in 2012, to 1190 in 2015…a 29% increase. It is paramount that Philadelphians supports WOAR and other organizations that provide services to the victims of this growing epidemic and help to reduce this disturbing trend. We must also raise awareness about the warning signs of sexual abuse and support programs that teach self-defense and reduce risk factors
