Well to be honest I am trying to put together a portfolio. I went to college and got my business degree after serving in the Army and have been in Management for 3 1/2 years now, and would like to do something I love, not just something to pay the bills.
I admit that I am still working very hard to learn the many technical aspects of photography, but my passion runs deep and I have an unparalleled eye for beauty in all things. This isn't arrogance but rather an evaluation based upon research and conversations. Can I translate my natural eye for beauty through a lens? I feel I can, but we will see. All I am truly wanting from this is to do something I love and eventually make some money doing so.
What am I looking for in a model? Well I have so many ideas and concepts I would like to explore, so if I could find a set group of models that I work well with and can see my vision, well that woukd be ideal. I am not opposed to paying models, but do realize that I do not yet make money from this so resources are limited. I may pay for certain assignments, but I might not pay every time. Nudity is not a must, but the reality of life is that the more limitations a model has the more a photographers creativity is stifled.
I will work a lot in carefully chosen locations, primarily in the pacific northwest centered around Seattle, as this is my home region. I will pay for any travel and expenses necessary, and all expenses will be negotiated prior to any commitments. Make-up artists and hair styling will be rare when working with me, as they are costly luxuries that I will only use when dire for a shoots success. So i would prefer models who have at least a desire and willingness to do hair/make-up and sometimes wardrobe. Wardrobe will be open for discussion, but models who can provide their own wardrobe for most shoots will get priority for paid work, assuming they fit the concept.
I have many ideas for what types of shoots I would like to do and usually have a clear vision for my ideas, but I believe a model and photographer need to be comfortable working together and that all ideas are up for discussion. That does not mean that I will cave every time or even all that often, but if someone offers an opinion it WILL be taken for consideration. I am willing to and looking for all models, big, small, young or old. If you are interested send a message and we will see if we can come to terms.
