My name is Denise An. I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado and started doing makeup as an extension of my illustration training.

I am educated at the Academy of Art University located in foggy San Francisco in Illustration and graphic novels.

After moving back to Colorado I was employed in the Tower Records (now defunct) art department making signage for the store. This time period hugely influenced my interest in airbrush, graffiti, typography and now body art.

I came into makeup through being a classically trained dancer with the Colorado Ballet and at the age of 12, started to do my own makeup for stage and theater. In recent years, I decided to pursue makeup artistry from a love of fashion and design, especially from the 40's-70's, pinup-glam-punk-editorial.

Though I prefer natural beauty and wedding style makeup, I am interested and have experience in body and face painting (not necessarily clown or fantasy makeup), as well as street art, graffiti, calligraphy, airbrush, color theory, beauty and theatrical makeup application. I am also proficient in stage, theater, and costume makeup and am able to make some props and costuming, if needed. I will also style hair and wardrobe, using Aveda products.

I am available to give full facials, light peels and natural micro-dermabrasion prior to photo shoots using exclusively Aveda products. Please message me if you are interested.

I price all my collaborations individually and I prefer to be paid for my time and travel rather than trade for time or prints.
