Sylvia Torres is a true Williamsburg original,born and raised in Brooklyn,NY. she is the first generation child of Puerto Rican parents. Her own father being one of her earliest musical and artistic influences. Sylvia's pride n her cultural diversity ha always reflected in her art and personal style.

Growing up in Brooklyn has allowed her to fine tune her artistic vision. Her work often reflects grit with beauty. This ability was formed in her adolescence and continues to evolve. There is something to be said about growing up in a town whose grace generally went unnoticed by most but her loved by her. Her photography is both nostalgic and progressive. Sylvia's images often capture feelings and moods that remind us all of a time in our lives,pulling us out of our heads and into the new. Her energy is bubbly,young and refreshing. Everything she does is performed with skill and flare.

She attended LaGuardia Music & Art High School and majored in music. It was there that she discovered her natural ability for fine arts. Later she went on to study Commercial Photography in College. For twelve years she worked with Pelaez Productions and in that process she made a name for herself as a fine stock photographer. Images produced by her are distributed to agencies such as Corbis, Getty, Images Source and Blend. Her photographs are often published in magazines for advertisements and can be spotted periodically on billboards around the country.

When asked what motivates her, the ever charismatic Sylvia will say that she loves to see people laugh and having a good time. Her career is not just a job but an actual passion. Her final product is always a labor of love.
