About Me

My name is Brian Douglas Ahern, and I'm known in the cartooning world as Briz.

I am a published photographer, my first book PIGBOYS: Clean-Cut Boys Playing Dirty was published in 2005 by Author House Books. It is an all-ages appropriate book featuring college-age models in slickers and boots goofing around in the mud while acting out the role of 'pigboy', or young pig farmer. While the first edition is now out of print, the second volume in the series is now available, and both the third and fourth volumes have been shot and are currently undergoing design layout.

I focus my work mainly on male models, and will only work with those men ages 18 or older.

I have been blessed to work with a number of extraordinary models, some professional, some completely unknown.
Some of my Pigboys alone have included a landscaper, a university linebacker, a computer specialist, and a medical student. Only one of which went on to a career in modeling.
You needn't have professional credentials to work with me, but a sense of humor helps as I tend to put my models in costume more times than not.

I will not shoot nudes. Glad we got THAT straight.

My favorite photo experience to date was when I was flown to California to shoot a 150-page photo book for the professional actor/models the Karshner Triplets. The book never materialized, but I made three wonderful friends I will cherish for my lifetime.

I am always on the lookout for new models who can become new faces for my latest Pigboys book or other projects. Contact me, by all means. I will always do my utmost to reply.

Model Mayhem models I wholeheartedly recommend:

Hanging Chad  MM #2028125
Chad is not only remarkably handsome and personable, he is a consummate professional. He is adaptable and cooperative, bringing both experience and insightful contributions to our shoot. I look forward to working with him again with great anticipation.

Jeffrey Van Hare MM #351487
Jeffrey is a 'go-the-distance' model who will don any wardrobe or expression and look as if he is having the time of his life doing it. He was a joy to work with. I only wish our shoot had lasted longer.

Matthew Gravely  MM #504599
Matthew has all the experience with none of the attitude. He truly gives 100% to what he does. Matthew has beautiful looks and gorgeous eyes, but Matthew also has another attribute that is exceedingly rare in any field: sincerity.

Edward Zittel MM #1011706
Besides being gorgeous, Edward brings enthusiasm, talent, and professionalism to the table.  He will look stylish no matter how you choose to dress him up or dress him down.  Work with him now before he gets so famous you won't be able to.

Corey Daniel  MM# 1533144
Corey is new to the field and comes in with great exuberance and cooperation. Besides a great head of hair and a winning smile, Corey invests something into his work as a model that few others have- his spirit.  Work with him, you'll never regret it.

Stephen Knefely  MM #508568
Stephen brings genuine enthusiasm to a shoot as well as an honest willingness to work. His boyish looks and charm are backed by dedication and drive. I cannot wait to work with him again.

Ryan D. White #167049
The word heartthrob just doesn't seem to cover it. With beautiful eyes that seem to see right into your soul, Ryan is at home in any wardrobe, location, posture, pose, or expression. He can step into characters and emotions as easily as slipping into a familiar pair of shoes. I am so glad I got to shoot with Ryan and I truly envy anyone who gets to work with this remarkable young man.

Jake Imanse MM #622890
Jake is a true man of character who works well either with fashion or in costume with props. He can flash a mischievous grin at will, but within his chest beats the heart of a superhero. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Justin Hayward  MM #488581
Justin is quite simply a natural. Relaxed and responsive, he is very much at home in front of the camera and as comfortable in costume as he is in his own skin.  Justin makes the shoot enjoyable and the images memorable. I will work with him again in a heartbeat.

Bretton Himes MM #154358
The essence of Professional. Bretton always comes prepared and gives more than you can anticipate. Fashion, casual, or costume. Hire him.

Craig Hardy MM #361904
The epitome of the All-American Boy, Craig is easygoing and cooperative, with strong camera presence besides.

Micky Jones MM #318290
As the song goes, he's "got 36 expressions, sweet as pie to tough as leather", although that lyric may be shy by 100 expressions. Micky can apply his acting chops equally well to become anything from a little lost boy to a disheartened junkie.
