About photographer Bas Adriaans:

Education and background:
Bas Adriaans was born in Eindhoven, a large industrial city in the south of the Netherlands.

From 1988 until 1992 he studied Interior Design in Rotterdam and graduated in 1992.

The following year Bas began to study Economics. It was during that year when he discovered that his efforts were better spent pursuing his passion for photography.

After building a portfolio, the Royal Art Academy in The Hague accepted Bas the following year where he continued to study photography until his graduation in 1997. During his studies, he had the pleasure of working with well known photographers like Jan Zwart, Bert Teunissen, Gerrit Schreurs and Johan Vigeveno, as a free-lance assistant.

Since 1997 he has been working as a professional photographer.

From 1995 until 2000, Bas Adriaans was a member of the board of PANL, (Photographers Association of the Netherlands.) He won several awards (1x Silver and 3x Merit and members choice) with his photographs which were listed in the book published annually by PANL.

Bas Adriaans works for commercial and editorial clients in several areas like portrait and studio photography.

He also continues working on projects for self promotion and was a teacher at the Rotterdam Photo Academy.
