About Me

Hiya! I'm Caitlin Janes, and this is the official Model Mayhem profile for my brainchild, Beauty and the Beast Makeup Artistry. Beauty and the Beast is a product of my imagination, brought on by my love of doing both glamor and special effects makeup. Using only the best quality supplies, I specialize in fashion, weddings, grads, photo shoots of all sorts, special effects, and gore makeup. I take my inspiration from things I see in nature, nightmares I've had, creatures I've imagined, and the colors that flit by my eyes through every day life. I am completely self taught, original, and fun to work with. I've worked both on and off Vancouver Island, traveling to mainland Vancouver for shoots is not a problem! With every face I take on, I endeavor to improve my skills and hone my craft. I am constantly trying to out do myself and come up with something new. At the behest of many models and photographers, I have finally decided to join Model Mayhem in an attempt to reach out for new experiences and continue to do what I love; makeup. I can bring out your inner beauty, or transform you into a hideous beast. The only thing I request is that you come with an open mind and a clean face. You must have self confidence! If you set out doing makeup in an attempt to make someone beautiful, you will always lose. If you set out to make someone feel as beautiful on the outside as they are on the inside, then you will win every time.
I can be contacted by phone at 250-589-7639 or by email at [email protected]
I am looking to turn this into a business, so I would rather do paid shoots than TF, but I will never turn down a job. Rates generally start at 60$ per shoot and go up depending on the difficulty of the piece and the number of people being shot. Prices however, are always negotiable.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Credit Notes

I have worked with some wonderful people, and I couldn't just not give them credit, could I?

This will be updated eventually.....

Photographers:
Dani Boynton -- Always a joy to work with, she keeps me on my toes and constantly drives me to come up with something more creative than before!
Steve Lukinuk -- A definite prize in the photography world. I always leave shoots with him feeling happy and surprised with what has happened.
Diniz Pereira -- I never thought someone could do with my work what he has done. Creative, and a true joy to work with.
Richard Barker -- Sending models to him has never been a problem. He gives good instructions on what he wants done, and the work he produces is absolutely glorious.
Lane Chevrier -- The first photographer I ever worked with! Seeing him bring my work into the professional world was one of the most fulfilling moments of my life.
Renaud Dergeron -- My first mainland Vancouver shoot. Challenging, and a great success. Loads of fun to work with.

Models:
Jenny Denluck -- My best friend and most faithful customer. She is one of my favorite people to work with, and coming up with ideas to suit her is never a problem. Versatile and creative, she never fails to bring a smile to my face, and a face to my work. Most of my shoots are with her, as she is the one who encouraged me to bring my work out, take it off my face, and put it on someone else's. She has introduced me into the world of modeling and photography, brought me to meet many wonderful people, and spread the word about my work. Be prepared to see lots of pictures of this girl, because I never get tired of showing her off!
Lolly Lushbottom -- A true star of modern burlesque. My shoot with her was one of the single most hilariously awesome experiences of my life. Her sparkling attitude and willingness to do anything to get the shot done right made working with her a true privilege.
Michael Ward -- Wow. I don't think anything negative could be said about my experience working with him. I was very intimidated by the level of his success, but he was patient and sat for a whole 4 hour makeup application like it was a nap on the beach. Working with him was a lot of fun, and I would do it again in a heartbeat.
