Photography is fairly a new discovery for me. As a little girl I spent a lot of my time drawing dresses that my mother tailored for me because I refused to learn to sew my own designs; I thought it was not necessary, but I was wrong. My love for fashion only grew stronger over the years and I no longer had my mother with me to teach me the important skills that some day would become so important for my success.

After high school I was accepted to FIT in New York, but I could not afford living in the city at that time; I was alone and underage. Finally, I decided to attend Penn State University and major in graphic design because it sounded so similar to fashion design or at least it ended with a common word, design. Despite the similarities of color and design theories, there was huge difference between these two careers; at least they seemed to be equally competitive and stressful to prepare me for the challenging environment ahead. However, I did I not complete my degree in graphic design; two years into the graphic design program and I finally had submitted my portfolio, I was rejected and without too many choice I moved on to the next hot thing that was happing when I was not concentrating in graphic design assignments, photography.

Photography became a new light for me and I had an innate talent and keen eye that was surprising even to myself because I had never held a camera before that point. Despite my interest in fashion, my first work was mainly portraits of strangers that show my deep connection with people. The rest of my two years in college were spent taking photography courses and practicing to perfect my skills. I know I want to photograph fashion and would like to create a portfolio that I am proud of and can utilize to market my work at truly professional level.
