My name is Johanna Girard, and I am an artist/ illustrator in Pasadena, California. After graduating from Art Center College of Design in 1986, I have worked as a story board artist in ad agencies, done architectural illustrations, and designed art for the home decor industry. However, drawing from live models is the aspect of art that I enjoy the most.

In 2009 I opened my own teaching studio, Art Classes of San Gabriel Valley . My studio hosts a weekly figure painting workshop open to any artist in the community who enjoys the challenge of painting the human figure from life. We are always looking for models who can pose in fun themed costumes, (pirate, cowboy, fairies, vintage etc). Occasionally the workshop will focus on the classic artistic nude figure, as well. The photos here are some examples my drawings done at these workshops.
