About Me

Hi. My name's Kennedy Claire. I'm a 23 year old model from Southeastern Louisiana. I'm 5'9" and 180 pounds. I'm the girl next door: brown hair, brown eyes, and a cajun/country accent set off with an Indian tan. I'm bubbly, sweet, and I guarantee that I can make you laugh. I'm a curvy girl with an hour glass shape. I also have four tattoos and six piercings (two in each ear, nose, and bellybutton). I have no problem covering my tattoos or removing my piercings. I do not shoot nudes and I'd prefer an escort during shoots. I'm a full time student, so out of town shoots would have to take place during weekends, breaks, or during the summer. I have runway experience; modeling for a local company for eight years. You can find me on facebook at facebook.com/kennedy.claire

*NOTE*
I'm a curvy girl. I may not be the skinniest or in the best shape, but if you can make me feel comfortable and beautiful, I'll be one of the best models you've ever shot with. I'm a 'plus size' model and I'm perfectly ok with that. According to a magazing article, if you're over a size 2, you're considered plus size. I say to hell with that. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.

*NOTE*
It's taken me many years to be able to say this, but I finally can...i LOVE myself and I honestly don't give a shit what anyone else thinks of me. I'm a plus sized girl, hire me for modeling jobs or don't. After beating myself up I now realize that it's not that I wasn't good enough to work with you, you just weren't good enough to work with me! :)

*Robert Taggart on our shoot*
Michelle O'Reagan: You recently worked with Kennedy Claire as photographer. What key ingredients made the process successful?

R.E. Taggart: Kennedy Claire was a breath of fresh air to shoot. She is a very open-minded person that is very comfortable with her own self; she is outgoing and communicates well in general. These cohesive personality traits will enable her to work well with any photographer moving forward. As we know, photographers and models can certainly have diverse personalities.
Kennedy also does her homework prior to a shoot. She asks questions, responds with ideas and builds an excellent report even prior to meeting face-to-face for the first time. Kennedy and I discussed ideas and even E-mailed images back and forth so that time wasn’t wasted when we got down to business. When a photographer travels from out of town to work with a model, building an early report is essential to make everyone feel “at ease” and to know just what to expect from the shoot

M. O. :Was this your first shoot together? What about the setting, light, weather, or charisma of the model made this scenario ideal for shooting?

R.E. Taggart: Yes, this was our first shoot together. What made it interesting was that I was never in New Orleans before, so I was depending on Kennedy to help me with ideas and assisting with the locations for our shoot. We initially discussed a couple of concepts for an outdoor portion, but with a chance of rain, we had an indoor portion also planned.
We were lucky enough to have good weather with an overcast day capturing beautiful fashionable images off of Bourbon St. and the Jackson Square area in the French Quarter as well as more Glamorous Boudoir work being done at the JW Marriott.
Kennedy was fun and creative throughout the whole shooting event.

M. O.: What emotions or attitudes do you enjoy conveying with an image and seeing projected in the model?

R.E. Taggart: I enjoy capturing the female form in such a manner to intrigue the viewer or make them want to know more about the person or the images that are being captured. Personally, I like my images to be thought provoking. I enjoy making somewhat sexy and voyeuristic images that can also be seen in the work of the late Helmut Newton. I like portraying the female as being both powerful and provocative. Helmut was able to do this with and without nudity. His images were edgy and sexy generally and sometimes even quite alluring and shocking to the viewer as well.

M. O.:In general, what advice would you give a very new or hopeful model going to his or her first shoot? What advice would you give in general for preparing for modeling?

R.E. Taggart: My advice would be to be organized prior to any scheduled shoot. Attempt to communicate well or even attempt to meet in person. This will allow both the photographer and model to gain comfort with each other as well as develop a solid plan for the shoot.

With excellent communication, there will be no misunderstandings and the comfort level will be well demonstrated in the end product. Be upfront about how the work will be used and use a model release that accurately reflects the intentions of both the photographer and model.
