Aloha!! My name is Desiree, I reside in the beautiful state of Hawaii on the prettiest island in the world.. "The Garden Island"!!

My goal for being on Model Mayhem is to hopefully find more work as a model and photographer. I started doing photography when I was 14 and started modeling at the age of 16 when I was in High School. Photography has always been something I thoroughly enjoy and take most delight in shooting people from infants to the elderly.

At the early age of 13 I was already determined to shoot "Models"! Playing around with my Mom's snapshot camera I dressed up my younger cousins in make-up and clothing and had them pose for me while I took their pictures at the beach. My love for shooting Models had grown and become my favorite kind of work.

I have shot Nature, Weddings, Sports, High School Events such as Prom, Community Events for the Newspaper, Reunions, Family Portraits, Children, Pets and much more but have decided to focus mainly on shooting Models.

I wish I could work with ALL the models who needed TF but I can't, this is my part-time income that allows me to have some fun in life too. By all means, don't hesitate to ask if I am willing to do TF, (I may not be too booked and could possible do it). I prefer to work with an experienced or professional model, I'm sorry but I don't have the time to work with inexperienced models who don't know what they're doing.

From time to time I will be doing test shoots/projects (Cast Calls) and here is where you (new/inexperienced models) may inquire where I will most likely be doing TF/TFCD.

I normally shoot on location througout our beautiful island,
I can also do "in studio" (am equipped) type work so we could even shoot in the privacy of your home, vacation rental or hotel if you like.

Prior to shooting I like to meet my model so we can both get to know each other and feel comfortable about working together. At this time I also like to go over ideas/concepts, wardrobe, accessories, poses, MUA and location so we have a solid plan for the shoot.

I am a professional and expect to work with Models who are on-time, organized and ready to shoot as scheduled. I don't like flakes and if you flake out, I will probably never work with you again. If you have an emergency, it's understandable but excuse after excuse tells me you're unreliable.

I am okay with you bringing a friend to the shoot, I would however prefer this friend be your personal MUA/Hairstylist who will be sure you're always looking great for all your shots and/or someone who will assist us in making sure we have everything needed to make the shoot go smooth. Sometimes I can use the assistance with a reflector too and you might need help lugging personal items if we have to do a short hike to the location so it's all good. Please don't bring someone who will only be a distraction, I like to do the job and be done within a certain time frame if possible.

~AS A MODEL~

I feel my own experience as a model has a huge impact on my capabilities as a photographer. Modeling has been most rewarding for me in building my self-esteem and confidence. I have worked in many different settings and met a lot of wonderful down to earth people along the way. From print ad work to fashion runway, it has afforded me one opportunity into the next such as commercials and acting and I'm finding I'm loving it all immensely.

I was a professional Entertainer/Hula/Polynesian Dancer for the Waiohai Marriott Hotel and Grand Hyatt Regency in Poipu, Kauai for many years. I've worked as a Go-Go Dancer for numerous Harley Davidson Theme Parties put on by the Hyatt Regency, Kauai. I love singing, have won a handful of talent contests and performed with a few bands.

~Sports~

I've competed in numerous Paintball Tournaments with Guys and against guys and LOVE the sport! Was a hotshot basketball shooter, I bodyboard, surf (I'm no pro, haha), did outrigger paddling and some martial arts in Karate & Kajekenpo, now learning the art of Tai Chi. Looking forward to learning Belly Dancing!!
