My name is Giancarlo Marino. I'm a fashion and beauty photographer based in Tokyo Japan. My work has been described as classic, romantic and clean. These are three qualities that make up a perfect image and I try to nail it every time.
I was born in Napoli, Italy. I picked up my first camera at age 12. It was a Kodak camera bought with the money I saved from my weekly allowance. I began photographing the beauty that surrounded me in my hometown Napoli. In high school I began to take interest in the beautiful Italian designers that I saw in fashion magazines such as Vogue and W magazine. Being 100% Italian it was love at first sight.

I was famous fashion and celebrity photographer Jerry Avenaim's assistant for almost 2 years. l was able to learn so much from such of a great teacher and mentor. Still today I use many of his advices and technics to achieve the best results when I shoot.
As I started working as a freelance photographer, I was part of advertising campaigns such as Armani, Diesel, Banana Republic, R&R Eye-wear and I did collaborate with magazines such as Elle and Vogue.
My main interests are: Fashion, Beauty and Swimwear Photography.

私はジャンカルロ　マリーノです。ファッション＆ビューティーフォトグラフィーを中心に日本の東京で活動しています。私の作品を表現するとしたら、クラシック、ロマンティック、クリーンな感じです。この3のクオリティーによって完璧なイメージが確立され、日々努力しています。
生まれはイタリアのナポリです。初めてカメラを手に取ったのは12歳の時でした。コダックのカメラで、毎週貯めたお小遣いで買いました。故郷のナポリで育った環境が、美を撮ることに多いに影響しています。学生時代にヴォーグやWの雑誌などで美しいイタリアンデザイナーを見たのをきっかけに、100%イタリア人の私はすっかりとりこになりました。

ファッション、セレブリティフォトグラファーとして有名な Jerry Avenaim 氏のアシスタントを約2年間していました。先生としてまた指導者としてもとてもすばらしく、多くを学びました。撮影時には、彼のアドバイスやベストな作品へと導くテクニックを今でも参考にしています。
フリーランスの写真家として活動し始めた時は、ARMANI, DIESEL, BANANA REPUBLIC, R&R EYE-WEARなどのキャンペーン広告に携わり、ELLEやVOGUEなどの雑誌ともコラボレーションしました。
主に興味のある分野: ファッション、ビューティー、水着撮影。
