About Me

I am a beginner model (albeit late) exploring my fascination with photography from in front of the camera.

Current Projects

A visual story in three parts shot separately. The first has been shot and the photos are in post production. It was shot by the very talented and and very brave Dannies Photography.

The first part illustrates a man's struggle to break free from a muddy hole in the earth..

For "Water" we see him walking down into water and journey(swim) through the dark depths until finally rising into the light. (I want to shoot this underwater with a lot of Photoshop work afterwords)

Finally for Earth, he emerges from the water and ascends a mountain/cliff/?. As he rises he goes from shadows to bright light. And as the light hits him he begins to dry. And as he dries he becomes stone/clay/?. The last shot would be him as a statue or a fragmented pile of earth (not clear in my head yet).

Ideas
I am open to anything, but here are some of my own ideas. Please feel to borrow or steal any that interest you. All I would ask is if they work out, let me know.

Body In Motion
I am a total exercise addict and would love to capture that passion in photos.

Running, Bicycling, Swimming, Roller Blading
It would also take advantage of some of the awesome scenerie of Kansas City.

Through the Bathroom Mirror
An intimate look at human vulnerability and vanity.

A Guy and a Web Cam
However, he's not alone but connecting with a person unseen. It would be a series of photos telling an intimate little story in the soft modern glow of the moniter. His apt and eager attention and his posture would communicate that he was trying to be with someone. Shots of him shyly undressing would be interwoven with him excitedly watching his friend. I haven't figured out how it would end.

A Tribute to Boris Vallejo
Utilizing a tattoo, a photographer, a makeup artist and photoshop, try to mimic a master.

Life Drawing
I am currently practicing my poses for my first life drawing modeling assignment.

Fun with Photoshop
Photoshop is just a lot of fun.

My Fascination with Photography
Photography has always appealed to me on several levels. There's the visceral impact of a good photo. It can seem so real and powerful. On another level the technical aspects are fascinating. The way subtle changes of lighting can substantially affect the emotional tone and experience of a photo. And yet for all lighting's obvious tangible affects, it works below the consciousness of most observers. It's magical when you think about it. And lastly there are the metaphysical questions posed by a photo. A photo is both the thing being captured and yet it is not – it’s something else.

Compensation
I don’t require or want any compensation. Just being involved in the process and having fun is sufficient reward for me.
