Segrid Allen Design was founded by Segrid Allen, who was born January 1, 1957 in Jamaica. At age nine Segrid’s grandmother saw that she had a passion for fashion and a talent that surpassed others her age. From a young age Segrid began sewing garment piece for her dolls which was the start of her journey. She fell in love with making beautiful pieces that gave compliment to women statue all over the world. Knowing that fashion designing was what she wanted to do, Segrid attended The Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale where she earned a degree in Fashion Design. At age 21 she started designing bridal wear, couture gowns, prom dresses, party dresses, and swimwear. Segrid drew her inspiration from fashion cities across the world such as London, Germany, Paris, and Amsterdam. The great Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, and Oscar de la Renta further added to her inspiration. After sell in numerous retail stores in England she is ready to expand into new markets. Now residing in the United States, Segrid is looking forward to bring her elegant, curvaceous fitting designs to the US and the rest of the world. A 15 year veteran in the fashion design world, Segrid is not looking to slow down anytime soon. When asked why are you a designer, Segrid simple replies “I love making ladies feel elegant and satisfied with how their clothing fit and I have fun designing beautiful and fun outfits”.
