I think every young girl has the dream of becoming a model. Whether gracing the covers of newstand magazines or walking the runways of the world wearing the costume couture that is modern fashion, modeling has its own place in any woman's heart. As time passes on and life takes over, that dream gets sidelined to the daily rigors of paying bills, making ends meat, starting a family, and seeming deal breaker: kids. After having 2 kids, any woman has second thoughts when the idea of modeling resurfaces; self-conscious fears arise and the mirror becomes the new monster in the closet.
Recently, my brother was involved in a devistating car accident. His struggles to overcome the sudden changes in his apperance, as well as the implied severity of the accident, reminded me that life is unpredictable. I was reminded that dreams are meant to be presued and fulfilles, and by putting those off until later can leave you regretting your youthful lack of ambition. As the saying goes "There is no time like the present!" With that I am doing those things I have longed for my entire life.
