About Me

Le Diable est Lâché et Occupé. The Devil is Loose and Busy.

Lâché et Occupé believes in helping the planet by upcycling, we believe in reviving & repurposing the beauty of the past to craft a more perfect future. We believe in creation using all pre-existing raw materials and crafting something desirable out of the outdated and unwanted. NO RHINESTONE LEFT BEHIND. Giving those items past their prime a new life and purpose. We believe in imagination and the expansion of the mind and work ethic. Embracing that which was meant to be loved then lost. Tattered laces, crystals and beads holding on for one more show, one more photograph....Beautiful Decay. We believe in individualism, taking something foreign and making it your own. Owning your unique viewpoint and surrounding yourself with others who do the same. Loving yourself wholly and completely. Fighting the good fight. Using your time on this earth to service the pure and ecstatic. Friendship. Cooperation. Collaboration. Decoration. Eroticism. Sex. Love.

Lâché et Occupé (Loose and Busy) is a vintage collective available for wardrobe, props, styling and design. We have a VAST archive of women's vintage clothing from the Victorian era through the 60's. We sell by private appointment, Various NYC Flea markets, and (coming soon) on Etsy! We love to redesign, rehabilitate and revive damaged or unflattering goods. Custom pieces available- just ask! We love meeting new people.....

Our showroom is located in Astoria, Queens. It is a magical triangular shaped, tin ceilinged wonderland filled with creepy mannequins, beaded 20's flapper dresses and taxidermy animals. It smells like leather, french perfume & apple pie. Decorated with opulent red velvet sofas and hand tooled leatherwork masterpieces by artisan Ted Nemeth. We have hosted several photo shoots, video shoots, Burning Man parties, etc... the space is incredibly unique and very photogenic. Its a hundred year old flatiron former department store. We are honored to have the pleasure to fill in with goods again. Who knows? Maybe some of our vintage mannequins used to live here! We are a hop, skip and a jump from the N/Q train Astoria Blvd stop.

What we hope to gain most from Model Mayhem is kindred spirits who share our vision of beauty and want to collaborate. Mostly photographers and models, though we do LOVE meeting stylists and seeing what they can do with our goods. And of course we would love to meet fellow vintage lovers and gain some new customers!
