About Me

UPDATE: At the end of Feb 2016 I am going to be on hiatus for at least two years, working on a new project. I am leaving my profiles up but I rarely check in here fyi.

I designed and built a 24x24" camera, which is huge, really huge, to shoot wet plate collodion images. These are film images on metal and glass, tintypes and ambrotypes, but they are much bigger than most people shoot. I like doing things a little differently than most. My camera can shoot 8x10, 11x14, 16x20, 18x24 and 24x24" plates and I usually do a variety of sizes in each shoot.

What do you need to know about wet plate collodion photography? That it is the most real and intense photos you will ever model for, they are each unique and wholly one of a kind, and they will last a really, really long time. Like centuries. So if you want to see yourself in a new way, an artistic way using a really old process then this might be for you.

And, as always, I work in trade, yes, trade, for a plate or two (again, there is no money here) and usually always involve some nudity in things just to keep it interesting, there are some times when I just crave shooting a portrait or something editorial and for those times all the nakedness I require is in your eyes. If I contact you and you are not comfortable with nudity, just say so, I will gladly work around your needs cause chances are if I wrote you it was because your images knocked me out and I would really like to create something with you. You will most likely be cold, get wet, and dirty when we are shooting. The meek need not apply.

FRIEND REQUESTS: They bug me if I have no idea who you are. Seriously, I just ignore them so get to know me and then friend me. Or better yet write me and start a conversation.
