About Me

Hi, I'm The Druidess Of Midian ~ Disabled Creative Model.

I'm a member of the Award Winning, Internationally Published Creative Team: #HedoniaProductions & #Lunaesque

I model on a regular basis for http://www.TheDarkAngel.co.uk and often support other boutique corture designers and creatives from around the globe.

I work within the realms of Artistic Nude, Weaponry and Fashion of all kinds, specialising in Period Costume and Attire, Tight-Laced Corsetry, Wiccan, Pagan, Folk lore, Faery Tale, Gothic, Alt, and Fetish. I’m also an experienced MUA, actress, soprano, horse rider and animal handler.

As an experienced actress I've spent many years performing on stage, in film (both feature length and art shorts) and music videos, all with lead roles and can be easily identified throughout their footage. Most notably I've worked in a prehistorical feature film set in the time of the ancient Celts, where I performed as my namesake - The Druidess - and conducted authentic Pagan blessing rituals and spellcraft. I also performed a lead role in a music video for legendary 80's icon, Kim Wilde "Everytime I see you, I go wild"  and am credited on http://www.IMDB.com

I have what's been described as an "other worldly" form and complexion - perfect for ethereal looking images! 😁 I have one tattoo on the top of my left arm and pierced ears. I do have the right products to cover my tattoo effectively, if required.

My Hair Colour is dark Auburn and has grown to my mid back, it's fine, silky and well looked after, making it extremely easy to style. Depending on the theme of the shoot, I have various hair peices I use for a more dramatic look, including full length ethically sourced human hair and a set of Viking style dreadlocks and braids that I made myself.

The majority of my work is done with my own make up artistry and hair dressing, having an extensive background in Theatre and Model MUA and hairdressing these past 20 years.
I'm more than happy to work with other talented MUA's and Stylists who can offer something different.

*Please message me for my Rates*
I offer discounts for half and full day bookings. I also accept bookings for residential shoots of 2 days or longer for those with the relevant references.
I do ask for long distance travel and accommodation expenses to be covered, if needed.

*TFCD*
As a rule I only accept shoots of this kind if it’s in collaboration with a well-known and respected photographer, with a full creative team involved and confirmation that the images will be published, i.e. shot specifically for magazines, catalogues or the like. I'm also open to offers to exchange my time for designers products, of an equal value' to my usual fee.

If you're a designer interested in loaning your bespoke items for use in #LunaesqueProductions photoshoots, please do not hesitate to get in touch with myself,  #AngeHarperPhoto or #CarriAngelPhotography to discuss options. We often collaborate with creatives all over the world,  with mutually pleasing results.

"Eh? You're a 'disabled' model? What does that mean?"
I have several chronic, co morbid illnesses, which have rendered me housebound disabled. I was once an extremely fit and able bodied woman, who lead an immensely full and active life. Then overnight a in early January 2011, my body began fighting itself and shutting down my major organs, I woke up in extreme agony, exhausted and unable to move, I was bed bound for over six months.

Fast forward through the years, multiple appointments at various hospitals around the UK, numerous specialists - most of which having blank, confused faces who shrugged their shoulders, until I was seen by the UK's lead Neurologist. I was diagnosed with Myalgic Encephamyelitis (M.E.), Fibromyalgia, Hypermobile type Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (hEDS or EDS3 as it used to be known), Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTs), Restless Limb Syndrome (RLS), Iritible Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Migraines and various other autoimune issues related to the main syndromes - which in my case are from a genetic mutation, causing my body to slowly degenerate to the point I will once again be permanently bed bound.

Currently I'm mostly housebound due to the intense levels of pain and exhaustion I constantly experience and I'm in receipt of home care as need assistance with the basics of everyday life. I have strong medication which only just takes the edge off my pain. I don't smoke, however I do vape CBD oil as I find it immensely effective against breakthrough pain as well as calming my constant pain - it's also wonderful for combating joint and gastrointestinal inflammation. I have good days and bad, so I prepare for them and balance out my activities so that I can manage my illnesses while still having some semblance of a life.  I walk with a cane and can't walk far, however I can still drive and I find that modelling isn't over exerting, especially as I balance out assignments so that I don't "over do it." Depending on the shoot requirements I may need assistance, so I'll bring a friend who's experinced with working on photoshoots, as well as helping me. It means that should I need something, there's someone 'in the know' on hand to help, as well as assist you with lighting/reflectors/effects/tea duties etc. if desired.

"Hang on, so if you're disabled, why are you still modelling?"
Why shouldn't I? Modelling is something I've gained a great passion for over the years, for me it's never just about making 'pretty images' - everything I take part in, tells a story, it takes the viewer on a journey of imagination - everything about the entire process is entirely enjoyable to me,  it's always been a source of expression, affording me freedom to explore multiple avenues of creativity. Essentially I use what little energy I have, to create with like minded folk from time to time. Granted I can't earn a living from modelling, I have to carefully meter out my energy and weigh up what I'm capable of at a given time. Everything has to be planned in advance and balanced with periods of rest and recuperation  - or as we #PwME like to call it "counting out our spoons" (search "TheSpoonTheory or #Spoonies). However, I still love creating and arguably some of my best work came to be, after I became disabled - I've been published more frequently and in larger, more recognised publications, especially since joining Hedonia & Lunaesque, all of which came to be within the last 9 year's.

And as you've probably already guessed, my position affords me the perfect place to raise awareness of the issues surrounding #InvisibleDisabilities and the ongoing discrimination against our disabled community - as well as raising awareness to women's issues such as the #MeToo movement. I'm a huge advocate for improving inclucivity and gaining equality for all people, hence being a feminist.  Discrimination is an ugly, abusive and frankly toxic trait that appears far too often, yet has no place in our society, so I'll do what I can to bring about positive change, while I still can.
