I work above water as much as below, and enjoy connecting my subjects with the world around them - for the model's sake as well as for his/her/their audience.

I believe that every image can tell a story, inspire, and even move its viewers. This is sometimes easier to do with motion pictures, but a still image that wields such power is a an awesome and rewarding thing.

I am a very experienced cinematographer and filmmaker, and am starting to become more engaged in still and model photography. My hope in joining MM is to expand my still portfolio, find like-minded individuals, embark on some wonderful and creative adventures, explore new depths, and gain from the experience of my colleagues.


[b][u]Location shoots[/u]:[/b]
While challenging, part of the excitement of imaging for me is exploring new locations and trying to make the most of what I'm given. Sometimes it can be a bit frustrating and we'll wish we had this, that, or the other thing... but it can be very rewarding to make the most of any given situation. If we know ahead of time where we want to shoot, we can scout for the best placement, angles, lighting, and time of day.

[b][u]Style[/u]:[/b]
This is supposed to be fun. Well, I believe everything in life is supposed to be (or can be) fun, and yes, I'm one of those "happy" people. You don't need to wear an eternal smile, but if you're irritated by people who smile a lot or are happy with their lives, we may not get along well.

I want you to enjoy yourself, and to create [i]with[/i] me. I want your feedback, and I want to hear your thoughts and ideas... before, during, and after our shoot(s).

[b][u]Friends[/u]:[/b]
As one good friend put it, friends are for connecting, not just collecting. If I send you a friend request (and I don't already know you personally), it is because you or your work inspires me, and/or I would like to work with you. Similarly, if you are inclined to befriend me, please also follow up with a note to tell me what inspires you about my work or ethos.

[b][u]Comments[/u]:[/b]
Comments and Tags are appreciated, but I don't do [i]"comment 4 comment"[/i]. Like compliments in real life, I don't believe that they should be forced. If someone compliments you on your shoes, do you just say "thank you", or do you feel obliged to find something nice to say in return? I prefer a simple voice of appreciation to any feigned, insincere, or forced compliment. If I leave a comment or a tag on your profile or portfolio, it is because I felt compelled to do so; reciprocity is not required. Sincere feedback, on the other hand, is most and always welcome.
