Hola, I'm Joy :)

While working for a popular photography chain, I have managed to photograph hundreds of families in the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia area over the course of more than three years.

I then went on to become a photography trainer for the brand teaching others the trade in a studio setting.

In 2013 I decided to take the independent high road and create art under my own brand, Just Joy Photography!

Leaving the 9-5 world has provided me the creativity and flexibility required to produce beautiful images that show off the beauty that every family produces. I understand that no two families are the same, therefore, I will forever photograph each family with a special approach to make sure I capture their own wonderfully unique styles!


On a more personal note, here are some random facts about me:
I love photographing absolutely anything, but babies have my heart. I have a B.A in English Writing and a minor in Theatre from the University of Pittsburgh. I enjoy all types of teas, but chai is my favorite. On 11.11.11 I married my best friend! My husband Brandon is beautiful inside and out, he has a kind soul, and a stubborn yet humorous personality. I love sushi and white zinfandel wine. I ride a 150cc scooter. I'm obsessed with the television shows Psych, The Walking Dead, Mountain Men, and American Pickers as well as anything on Discovery Health channel. I'd love children in the near future. I'm currently writing a children's book. I'm published for photography, poetry, and memoir. My favorite color is green, wondering what shade? Walk through a forest. I love hair accessories! The things I say are at random. I still get shy and stress over first impressions. I enjoy painting also- and when I say paint, I mean splattering colors on a solid white canvas and watching them slam together creating a river of whatever the heck it wants!
